RLC Preschool Program
Where curiosity grows and learning comes to life.
Preschool is an exciting time when children begin asking more questions, developing new ideas, building friendships, and discovering just how much they are capable of doing on their own. At Roots Learning Center, our preschool program gives children the opportunity to explore their interests, build confidence, and develop a genuine excitement for learning.
Learning Through Play & Exploration
We believe preschoolers learn best when they are actively involved in the learning process. Our curriculum combines purposeful play, hands-on experiences, teacher-guided activities, and child-led exploration to introduce important concepts in ways that are meaningful and engaging.
Throughout the day, children have opportunities to develop skills in:
-
Early literacy, language & communication
-
Early math & number concepts
-
Science & discovery
-
Art, music & creative expression
-
Fine & gross motor development
-
Problem-solving & critical thinking
-
Social-emotional development
Teachers observe children's interests and abilities and use those observations to create experiences that challenge and encourage each child while allowing them to learn and develop at their own pace.
Encouraging Curiosity & Creativity
Preschoolers are naturally curious, and we want to keep that curiosity growing. Our classrooms are filled with open-ended materials and opportunities to build, create, investigate, imagine, experiment, and ask questions.
Rather than simply telling children the answers, our teachers encourage them to wonder, predict, try, problem-solve, and discover. These experiences help children become confident thinkers who aren't afraid to try something new.
Growing Independence & Confidence
As preschoolers become more independent, teachers encourage them to take greater responsibility for themselves and their classroom. Children practice making choices, caring for their belongings, completing everyday routines, solving problems, and taking pride in what they can accomplish.
We celebrate effort and progress, helping children understand that learning isn't about getting everything right the first time—it's about trying, practicing, and growing.
Building Friendships & Social Skills
Learning how to be part of a community is just as important as academics during the preschool years. Teachers help children learn to communicate their needs, understand emotions, develop friendships, work together, take turns, resolve conflicts, and show kindness and respect for others.
These everyday experiences help children develop the confidence and social-emotional skills they need both in the classroom and beyond.
Building the Foundation for What's Next
Everything children experience in preschool helps build the foundation for future learning. Through play, exploration, relationships, and meaningful experiences, children naturally develop the early academic, social, and independence skills that will prepare them for Pre-K, kindergarten, and beyond.
Our goal isn't simply to prepare children for the next classroom. It's to help them become curious, confident, capable children who truly enjoy learning.
